Since its founding 2001, designer Hiroki Nakamura's Visvim has built an extremely dedicated cult following. With a laser focus on crafting unique and high quality "future vintage" garments, Visvim has gained international acclaim over the past two decades for their unique perspective and exceptional design. Not limited strictly to workwear or couture, they produce Folkwear, inspired by regional and historical manufacturing techniques from mud-dyeing to crocheting, with collections that build off of each previous year and develop holistically, season after season.
The Blackhawk Blouson is a perfect souped up American midcentury work jacket. Made in a classic green and blue tartan, the cropped jacket has all the hallmarks of vintage work jackets all with an added Visvim touch, like the black horsehide leather details throughout. The jacket features two front pockets, a chain pulled zip chest pocket, and an inside pocket as well. It is brought together with a full length zip closure.
The fit is cropped and boxy, originally designed to be worn with high waisted work trousers and allow for a full range of movement. The tartan is made from a wool linen mix that gives the jacket a texture and depth hard to find in modern fabrics. For added durability, elbow patches and the pockets and cuffs are trimmed with black vegetable tanned horsehide leather.
