Together, they combine old-world tailoring (from various antique European manuals) with workwear production techniques. Taking inspiration from British deck coats and jeep jackets from the first half of the 20th century, Motiv have taken the concept and upgraded everything they could. Featuring an extremely luxurious quilted interior lining with 800FP Goose down filling, it's exceptionally warm and comfortable, with a removable tonal shearling collar that can be fixed up to completely envelop your neck in warmth.
The exterior is impressively complicated without becoming confusing or unattractive, with an asymmetrical zip covering that doubles as a lapel, full belt closure, and more pockets than you'll know what to do with. Gussets and vents under the arms allow for full range of movement, and the tonal hardware help sell the all black "murdered out" look.
Made from a totally custom waxed cotton fabric, developed exclusively for MotivMFG by Halley Stevenson in the UK, these are a medium-lightweight (270gsm) fabric with a smooth texture and excellent water resistance. It's a remarkable fabric, with the softness and drape of a standard twill, that will develop a dramatic patina upon washing and with wear.
