Yuu and Miei of North No Name are long-time vintage traders, with an enthusiasm for the kooky and strange ephemera cast off by the middle of the 20th century. Their patches are inspired by this weird underbelly of post-war America, and all done on a single-needle machine on felt, in their workshop above their vintage shop in Asakusa, Tokyo.
Something we're asked a lot is "what should I put this patch on?" the only answer we have for that is is "whatever you want." But if you were looking for a brand new "canvas" to work on (cover in patches and embroidery), then I would suggest you stop your search, because you've found it.
Inspired by light work uniform jackets from the 1950s and 60s, this corduroy work jacket has all the expected trimmings: two handwarmer pockets, Universal zippers, a pull-chain zipper breast pocket, snap cuffs, and lots of wide open space to put patches on.
With a chainstitched "No Name" embroidered above the breast pocket, brass adjuster buckles at the hips, and a cropped, trim fit, it's an ideal light jacket for working in. The light, narrow-wale corduroy makes for a great mid-layer during the cold seasons, but transitions easily into outerwear during times of warmth.
