These boots are no longer available for purchase. We are sold out.
We have a deep and abiding love for horsehide, there's just nothing quite like it when it comes to making up a pair of engineer boots. When we found out that Wesco could get in on a small batch of black Horween Chromexcel, we jumped on it to make these.
The template is early engineer boots, with a nod to the Japanese "Narrow" model, with a narrower shaft. We left the edges of the leather natural, with black topstitching. We made a new custom die in order to have a truly vintage accurate pointed instep strap.
The outsole stitching is undyed white, and the midsole edges are left natural, all sitting on the Vibram 269 outsole. To stay true to our inspiration for the boot, we used the MP1339 last, aka the "narrow" last.
Not surprisingly, the last that these are built on runs narrow, so the E width wears like a D. To size these, you would take the same size as you would in the Red Wing Heritage Iron Ranger.
$400 deposit, with the remaining $400 due when the boots are delivered to us in October.
