The theme of the Fall-Winter 2020 collection from 1st Pat-Rn is “something else”, invoking the spirit of the jazz music that inspires Cristiano and Silvia. Like the musical form, the style of 1st Pat-Rn balances modernity with tradition to produce something unique. In the same way that you can drop an Ornette Coleman track from 1958 right next to a new release from Small Circle of Friends, garments from 1st Pat-Ran fit seamlessly into any era of style.
We’ve had this particular 1st Pat-Rn jacket around for many seasons now, and for good reason. It’s the perfect elevated workwear piece, with just enough pockets and a tailored-but-not-tight fit. The influences that go into this include vintage French workwear pieces, lab coats (hence the naming), and classic tailoring.
The very narrow-wale "needlecord" corduroy these are sewn up in just about drink in light, and seem to shift in saturation in different environments. A very soft, slightly dry (but not crunchy or stiff) corduroy fabric, it's as close to being a year-round fabric as a corduroy can be.
